Read this first: the official Mistral docs no longer document this endpoint. Codestral is a separate product from La Plateforme: its own endpoint (codestral.mistral.ai), its own API key, its own quota — a La Plateforme key will not work here (and vice versa), per the catalog record. Both docs pages fetched today (docs.mistral.ai/api/ and the FIM endpoint page) reference only api.mistral.ai — so everything below about the dedicated endpoint comes from seed repos and is unverified. What you get, per the catalog: "Currently free to use; Monthly subscription based; Requires phone number verification. Limits: 30 requests/minute, 2,000 requests/day." Category is permanent_free, but that "currently free" phrasing means the $0 subscription could end — treat this as free-until-notice.
